Co-Chairperson Message 2016

Welcome to Ohio Consultant Dietitians in Health Care Facilities (OCD-HCF). Thank you for the support we have received thru the years for OCD-HCF.  We hope at this time, if you are not a member that you will renew your membership for this year which is due by September 1 or you can renew when you register for the Annual Conference which is September 30 at Corporate College at   Richmond Road in Warrensville Heights. We are planning a cutting edge conference which will have presentations that speak to common medical issues that we as dietetic professionals deal with on a daily basis. The title of this years conference is Nutrition 911: Cutting Edge Trends and Research in Healthcare.
We would like to welcome Ellen Thompson, RDN, LD to the OCD-HCF Executive Board for the upcoming year starting 2017 as Treasurer.  She brings a wealth of experience as a Consultant, surveyor and Food Editor for a Healthy Cooking Magazine.

This year, we are searching additional new members to our Executive Board for the upcoming years.  We have been a state wide organization that meets the specific needs of the Consultant Dietetic Professional for over 20 years.  Our organization is seeking volunteers to help us continue our work to provide educational opportunities as well as provide information on job opportunities and keep you up to date on changes in legislation which affect our chosen profession.

Some positions on the OCD-HCF Executive Board will reimburse for the FNCE conference which is a huge opportunity to network with other professionals while earning CEUs and visiting cities that are new to you.  Thru my volunteer work on the Board for 12 years, I have formed a bond with dedicated members and members of the Board.  Many of our members that I see at our annual conference are old friends and colleagues.  Many times, I need to know information that is not in books, or on a list serv, or on the web, are answered at the annual conference. The OCD-HCF Executive Board is a diverse group of dietetic professionals who are an excellent resource.

Some of you have been on the Board before and understand the importance of our organization.  For those of you who have not been on a Board, this is a wonderful opportunity which will help you in your career  If you are interested in becoming a member of the OCD-HCF Executive Board, contact me at or text me at 216.273.4496
